Much Ado About Nothing
Revive and thrive! Much Ado was Sweet Tea Shakespeare’s first ever production in 2012 and its first in-person production following the coronavirus pandemic, which meant smaller audiences and a shortened performance run. We are thrilled to bring it back this summer for full houses and a full run! The rom-com that started it all. Beatrice is a fast-talking spinster with no time for men. Benedick is the wisecracking marriage-hater crashing at her uncle’s house with a bunch of rowdy soldiers. But when Benedick’s best friend falls in love with Beatrice’s cousin, their friends and family hatch a plot to reveal the truth: that Benedick and Beatrice are actually head-over-heels in love.
Can these two bickering cynics finally admit what everyone else can see? Brilliantly blending romance and humor, Much Ado About Nothing is Shakespearean comedy at its finest. Directed by Jeremy Fiebig and Traycie Kuhn-Zapata, Much Ado About Nothing will run from June 2, 2022, to June 26, 2022.

Rounding out a full summer of storytelling is Shakespeare’s swashbuckling classic Pericles directed by Marshall B Garrett. From July 13th- July 24th, 2022, join us for the thrilling story of a young prince finding his way in the ancient Mediterranean. Sail the seas with us as Pericles faces off against an evil, adulterous king, fights off the best of the best to win the love of his life, and wrecks every ship he puts his feet on.
“Pericles” is the story of a brave and noble man, who undergoes challenges and tragedies, and emerges fulfilled. It is also the story of his daughter, who is separated from her father while a baby, grows up to be a paragon of virtue in a hard world of cruelty and exploitation.
