Sweet Tea Shakespeare is excited to announce their upcoming season of classic works with a contemporary vibe. This year’s lineup includes performances of Shakespeare’s classics, modern music, site-specific productions, and more. Entering its second decade of performances, Sweet Tea Shakespeare will present over a dozen distinct events over nearly one hundred nights in the coming year.
Sweet Tea Shakespeare performances are known for their inventiveness and resourcefulness, relying on simple, elemental staging that seeks to awaken the heart and the imagination of audiences and artists. Nearly all events include a live pre-show concert with musical pairings from pop to blues, jazz to folk, hip-hop to rock. Productions are intimate and urgent takes on the classics that intentionally do not set the show in the stuffy past or seek to rewrite the plays. Sweet Tea Shakespeare relies on a mix of professional artists, including actors and musicians, as well as community-based performers and emerging professionals to create lively productions and magical experiences.
For a limited time, we are offering a season ticket flex pass. These tickets may be used however the ticket holder would like; to experience a magical and community driven event complete with live music, delight, curated drinks and snack options, and various venues that will connect each audience member with their local establishments. A season ticket flex pass allows the audience member to use thirteen tickets however they would like over the course of the season.
Live Music Preshow
Most of our in-person and full-length online productions feature preshow entertainment with live music featuring our house band, The Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers (also known as “WOCO”). Along with music, enjoy plenty of warm hospitality and ways to engage, from bidding on special seating, which we call “Chair Paravel,” to adorning Sweet Tea Shakespeare swag available for purchase, to yard games and activities.

No outside food or beverages; no coolers.
Some events have age recommendations/restrictions, e.g. STS Hours have some adult language and therefore are recommended as PG-13 appropriate, LIT events are generally for adults 18+.

We offer no refunds for purchased tickets for any reason. Please be aware we perform outdoors in high heat and humidity, and the chairs we provide are sometimes regular folding chairs. We always invite audience members to make adjustments for their own comfort, sight lines, and out of kindness for others.
Free Rain Return Tickets
On outdoor performance nights where we move indoors due to rain, you can return for free to a performance of the same production later in the run by registering in advance with our box office. Subject to availability.
