Live Events Fayetteville NC | Much Ado About Nothing | Theatre Under the Stars | Live Music

Sweet Tea Shakespeare presents their much beloved outdoor season which includes three live main stage events over three months culminating in two weekends of rotating repertory performances. Kicking off in May is Party at Jay’s, local writers Michael Houck and Claudia Warga-Dean’s smashing adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. Followed by William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing and Pericles.

All performances will have streaming options available worldwide as part of the performance runs.

Revive and thrive! Much Ado was Sweet Tea Shakespeare’s first in-person production after the coronavirus pandemic, which meant smaller audiences and a shortened performance run. We are thrilled to bring it back this summer for full houses and a full run!

It’s the rom-com that started it all! Beatrice is a fast-talking spinster with no time for men. Benedick is the wisecracking marriage-hater crashing at her uncle’s house with a bunch of rowdy soldiers. But when Benedick’s best friend falls in love with Beatrice’s cousin, their friends and family hatch a plot to reveal the truth: that Benedick and Beatrice are actually head-over-heels in love. Can these two bickering cynics finally admit what everyone else can see? Brilliantly blending romance and humor, Much Ado About Nothing is Shakespearean comedy at its finest.
